The check in at Vienna House Easy was less than 5 minutes.  The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful.  The key card sleeves they provide even have a fold-up map of the city.  The text on the map was a bit small but it still was a nice touch.

I really loved the quirky decor of this hotel.  The rooms matched the vibe of the main areas and the city of Berlin.  My room had blue hues and tones throughout.  It was very clean and had plenty of outlets.  I didn’t do a full count but there were outlets by the desk, on each side of the bed, in the bathroom, and near the closet area.  Each side of the bed also had a small reading light in the headboard in addition to the larger bed side lamp fixture.  The lighting in the main bedroom area was ok at night.  You could definitely see but I wouldn’t suggest using that lighting for putting on makeup.  The furniture and fixtures seemed to be in good condition with little wear and tear.

The mattresses and pillows at this hotel were HEAVEN!!! The mattresses are on the softer side (sorry firm folks!) but they still hold form.  This was the perfect mattress for me, it felt like I was floating on clouds.  A firm mattress lover could still sleep but might wake up a little achy in the morning.  The pillows were also perfect!! I am a side sleeper so while I prefer a soft mattress, I need a firm pillow for neck support.  These pillows really fit the bill.  They held their shape really well while still feeling soft to the touch.  Needless to say, I had a very restful sleep the first night (the second night I came down with a cold and spent half of the night hacking up my lungs).

Bathroom: 4 of 5

This bathroom was on the smaller side (not a lot of floor space) but it had a good amount of countertop/sink area.  You could see some wear and tear on the fixtures and grout but nothing that really screamed neglect.  Some rooms only had a shower, but my room had a shower/bath combo.  [supsystic-gallery id=6]

The step into the bath is pretty high, so my elderly peeps should proceed with caution.  The water pressure was great and the water stayed nice and hot.  They included a hair dryer, magnifying mirror, facial tissues, and all-in-one shampoo/body wash at the sink and also in the shower.

Breakfast: 4 of 5

If I were born and raised in Europe somewhere, this breakfast would easily get a 5 of 5.  But being a typical American, I would have liked to see more hot food options.  Other than this one gripe, the breakfast spread was plentiful.  There were several varieties of fresh bread, meats, cheeses (even Brie, yum!), croissants, handmade jams and spreads, honey, nutella, scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, fresh fruits, yogurt, freshly squeezed juices, coffee, tea and other beverages.  At this point in my trip, I had accidentally purchased several bottles of “static” water (sparkling water for all you weirdos) and I was CRAVING some regular still water.  They had carafes of properly labeled sparkling water and still water.  I probably drank an entire carafe of still water I missed it so much.  Vienna House Easy had a GREAT selection of teas, so I snagged a few for the road.  All in all this was a great breakfast spread.

Location: 4 of 5* This city has Uber*

I ended up using Uber for most of my stay in Berlin, mostly due to the fact I was sick and didn’t feel compelled to even try and figure out the public transportation.  The rides weren’t too expensive but if I weren’t sick I would have saved by taking the train.  There is a bus and train station at the corner intersection (< one minute walk).  Based on google and some of my travel mates’ experiences, it is about a 40-45 minute walk to the center of town.  The time is drastically decreased if you go by car or train; 10 minutes and 15 minutes, respectively.  There was a variety of nice restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel as well.

WiFi: 4 of 5

Once I arrived in Berlin, I realized that I purchased a data SIM card with far too much data and that in order to get my money’s worth I needed to stay connected to cellular data 100% of the time.  So I didn’t personally test the WiFi at this hotel but I asked around.  The resounding consensus was that the WiFi was really good!  I held back the last star just because I can’t personally testify that it was excellent.

Overall: 4.2 of 5

I will be returning to Berlin (want to bring my best along next time) and I will likely stay in this hotel again.  The location by train is very convenient to the main sites, the beds are heaven, and the breakfast is ON POINT!  The cost per night is reasonable because it is slightly out of the center of the city.  I highly recommend Vienna House Easy for your stay in Berlin!
